I think that information technologies as we know them is the Sacred Grail of all humankind existence nowadays. Let me explaing my thesis.
First — it’s a motor — with wide spread of IT starting from the mid 20th century the all humanity got such a great chance to increase all it’s parameters — from a drastical improvement in illness fight and prevention if we talk about medicine to increase of decision taking time if we talk about any economic sphere or social engineering. In any possible application using of IT helps do everything better, faster and with less costs.
Second — it’s a threat — with IT goes in all spheres of our lives, it became possible to interfere any aspect of our everyday activity from a bank card payment to our social media chating, today any information about any person can be bought and can be sold.
Third — it’s a glass bridge — can you imagine how dependent we became? If you exclude any element of modern information technology due to any kind of reason, from a criminal or government activities to a massive natural disaster, f.e. if somebody will destroy severall dozens of cell phone masts or cut broadband Internet cables going to your region, all our way of life will crush in an hours and we find ourselves living like our grandfathers with business decision taking taking days instead of hours and find information processes taking hours instead of seconds.
Overall I hope that over time IT will improve our lives even more than now and we won’t face any difficulties associated with further informatization of personal data and transferring all our activities to World Wide Web.
