Today information technology (IT) is everywhere! Whether it is at shops, bars, service stations, schools , libraries, hospitals, airports or at work, nothing works without it. One even could say : «IT and Internet is at all floors».
Computers are used in all domains of science : biology, mathematics, physics, astronomy etc. Everybody now should know how to use a computer and other IT tools.
IT tools offer us new possibilities of communication such as telephone, fax, internet. The modern life has really changed. Thanks to Internet we can communicate with friends from all over the world, find information about any topic, listen to music , watch movies , register to courses and even follow them virtually, download or share photos, visit museums, meet people from different cultures, consult our bank accounts and make payments at any time of day or night, buy and sell almost everything, etc. One can send a letter or a postal card without going to the post office. So, many things can be done through computer and Internet, and sometimes there is no more need in paper letters. People do not give their postal address, but rather their email address.
Many areas of our life are helped by Internet. For example :
- in aviation: pilots can communicate with each other by remote control towers
- in journalism: journalists can publish reports on websites
- in teaching : teachers and students can do documentary searches and use electronic supports for teaching and learning .
- in architecture : architects can use softwares when constructing buildings.
- in banks : banks can transfer money through monetary exchange services.
- in library : librarians can easily list and classify books.
What would we do in life without computers ? No computer means no new technology , and no new technologies means no better future. IT is a key area in life because it is difficult to imagine our life without it.
